Orden deportación in absentia cómo saberlo y qué hacer

The True Love Conquers All - 985 Words

Trope #1: True love conquers all True love conquers all is an idealistic yet common theme in romantic comedies. In Pretty in Pink, the two main characters surmount great odds to be together. Andie and Blane come from two different economic classes. Blaine comes from an upper-class family, drives an expensive car and wears trendy clothes. In contrast, Andie lives in a small house with her father who is in and out of a job. She sews her own clothes and works at the record store after school to help pay their bills. Andie and Blane’s vast economic differences influence every part of their life, including who their friends are and the places they like to frequent. It is almost as if they come from two different worlds, which is an obstacle they have to overcome to be together. In Blended, the two main characters, Jim and Lauren, also have to overcome many stumbling blocks. At the beginning of the movie they go on a catastrophic first date. This is Jim’s first date since his wife died and he is uncomfortable and aloof. Lauren, not knowing the reason behind his cold behavior, thinks he is incredibly discourteous and insensitive. The date ends abruptly and they go their separate ways. Therefore, one of the main story lines in the movie focuses on the hilarious and sometimes endearing process they go through to get past their negative first impressions, let their guards down and earnestly get to know each other. Multiculturalism and Immigration for Citizenship -myassignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about theMulticulturalism and Immigration for Canadian Citizenship. Answer: Keep your language. Love its sounds, its modulation, its rhythm. But try to march together with men of different languages, remote from your own, who wish like you for a more just and human world. The above quoted lines from the book Spiral Of Violence by Hlder Cmara clearly outlines the essence of the concept of multiculturalism and immigration. Multiculturalism can be defined as the situation wherein all the different ethnic groups as well as the cultures get equal representation and none of them is ignored or misrepresented (Modood). This intends to study the process of multiculturalism and immigration through two articles, namely, Wayson Choys IM a Banana and Proud of It and Will Kymlickas Immigrants, Multiculturalism and Canadian Citizenship. The thesis statement of this essay is whether countries like Canada truly follow the policy of multiculturalism. The article IM a Banana and Proud of It by Wayson Choy focuses on the condition of the Chinese people in the nation of Canada and the process of their integration in the mainland culture of Canada. It is to be noted that Wayson Choy is a Canadian author born in the year 1939 most of whose works focus on the plight of the Chinese people and people from other nationalities in the mainland of China (Berry). The article under discussion here sheds light on his mixed identity as a Chinese Canadian citizen and the way he and his family members have been integrated in the culture of Canada. He says, Because both my parents came from China, I took Chinese. But I cannot read or write Chinese and barely speak it. I love my North American citizenship. I dont' mind being called a "banana," yellow on the outside and white on the inside. I'm proud I'm a banana ("I'm A Banana And Proud Of It -- By Wayson Choy). This statement clearly outlines the identity dilemma faced by the author. He even goes t o say that In every human being, there is "the Other.wanting the same security and happiness ("I'm A Banana And Proud Of It -- By Wayson Choy). The article Immigrants, Multiculturalism and Canadian Citizenship by Will Kymlicka, on the other hand, focuses on the concept of multiculturalism and multicultural citizenship. It is to be noted that Will Kymlicka, born in the year 1962, is a Canadian political philosopher and writer most of whose works focus on the theme of multiculturalism and its related aspects (Weinstock). He sees the concept of multiculturalism to be something of a faade and even goes on to say that multiculturalism has led to "undeniable ghettoization". Rather than promoting integration, multiculturalism is encouraging the idea that immigrants should form "self-contained" ghettos "alienated from the mainstream". This ghettoization is "not an extreme of multiculturalism but its ideal: a way of life transported whole, a little outpost of exoticism preserved and protected" (Kymlicka). He further says that multiculturalism has a "cult of ethnicity" which "exaggerates differences..endgame is self-pity and self-ghet toization", or what Schlesinger calls "cultural and linguistic apartheid" (Kymlicka). It is to be noted that the two articles, though written by two authors who are the citizens of the nations of Canada itself, gives different viewpoints of the process of multiculturalism and the process of the integration of the diverse ethnic groups into the mainland culture of Canada. The arguments of Choy in the article under discussion here completely appeals to the logos of the readers with sentences like By 1949, after the Communists took over China, those of use who arrived here as young children, or were born here, stayed. No longer "aliens," we became legal citizens of North America. Many of use also became "bananas" ("I'm A Banana And Proud Of It -- By Wayson Choy). On the contrary, the article of Kymlicka, though also appealing to the logos of the readers gives a different view of the same concept in lines like "official multiculturalism encourages apartheid, or to be a bit less harsh, ghettoism". The more multiculturalism policy has been in place, "the higher the cultural walls have gone up inside Canada". Multiculturalism encourages ethnic leaders to keep their members "apart from the mainstream", practising "what can best be described as mono-culturalism". In this way, "Our state encourages these gatekeepers to maintain what amounts, at worst, to an apartheid form of citizenship" (Kymlicka). Furthermore, the article of Choy insists that the Chinese people should adopt the culture of the native Canadian people in words like In fact, our families encouraged members of my generation in the 1950s and sixties to "get ahead," to get an English education, to get a job with good pay and prestige. "Don't work like me," Chinatown parents said. "Work in an office!" The lao wah-kiu (the Chinatown old-timers) also warned, "Never forget--you still be Chinese!" ("I'm A Banana And Proud Of It -- By Wayson Choy). The article of Kymlicka, on the other hand, comments on the hollows of the concept of integration followed by the immigrants in words like adopting a Can adian identity rather than clinging exclusively to one's ancestral identity; participating in broader Canadian institutions rather than participating solely in ethnic-specific institutions; learning an official language rather than relying solely on one's mother-tongue; having inter-ethnic friendships or even mixed-marriages rather than socializing entirely within one's ethnic group (Kymlicka). Therefore, from the above discussion it becomes clear that multiculturalism form an important aspect of the Canadian nation. The two articles under discussion here though focus on the common themes of multiculturalism and integration articulate different viewpoints about the meaning of the concepts of multiculturalism as well as integration. It is to be noted that though both the articles appeal to the logos of the readers however one article shows the positive side of the concepts of multiculturalism and integration whereas the other gives the negative side of the same concept. Thus, it can be said that multiculturalism is a very dynamic concept ad whether a country adequately follows the concept the concept of multiculturalism or not depends on the interpretation of the person as it becomes apparent from the two articles discussed here. MBA Sample Essay - Previous Experience

As a Marketing Manager with ADPs corporate marketing department, I have been assigned to lead various product-specific marketing initiatives supporting a diversified group of business segments. Among these tasks, none was more important to the strategic direction of the business than leading the development of ADPs web site adp.com.ADP, a leading $5 billion technology company with over 425,000 clients worldwide, lacked a consistent or aggressive Internet strategy. Instead, each business unit or division was driving its own website strategy and execution. More often than not, the result was a fragmented message—a cluttered, company-centric website that failed to effectively communicate our broad range of products and services. Despite its market leadership, ADP was meeting neither the expectations of users nor the needs of clients. The company was also missing a tremendous marketing opportunity and risking losing market share because our competition was operating at a far highe r level than us. Realizing that Corporate Marketing could add value across the companys business segments, I initiated and led a plan to redesign the website and fully leverage the Internet as a marketing channel to drive branding, product awareness, and sales leads through an integrated and path-driven website. My role was specific: develop a strategy to improve navigation, communicate the complete range of ADPs products and services, optimize the flow of traffic to drive leads for the business segments, persuade visitors to purchase ADP products and services online, and create a platform for ADPs evolving E-business strategy. This initiative was highly challenging because of the complexity of the service offerings, the diversity of the business, and the overwhelming political bureaucracy within the organization. With a limited budget, limited resources, and limited supervision, I designed a four-phase strategy to re-evaluate the current website and replace it with an active, path-dr iven site. The strategy included a review of the companys current navigation and content, a strategic assessment mapping navigation and functionality against corporate and divisional objectives, and the design and architecture of the site. Furthermore, we developed a plan to validate our recommendation with market feedback through client and prospective client focus group interviews. The first phase encompassed an overall program review, analysis of all current ADP and industry Internet market research, a web traffic audit, and internal interviews with senior management. In familiarizing ourselves with current industry practices, we also reviewed 10 competitor and 12 business-to-business-leaders websites. These 22 sites were carefully evaluated for their relative strengths and weaknesses in the areas of navigation, content, degree of user-centricity, and organization. The second phase included a design exploration. Working together with a web design firm, we developed five different design options. In phase three, we gathered market feedback through focus group interviews conducted with both clients and prospects based on the current web site and on 5 new design options. The final phase involved feedback-based revisions to the designs, which will be presented to ADPs Executive Committee in April and launched in May 2000.The project was a success. Our recommendation was received with exceedingly positive feedback by both the business units and the Executive Vice President of Marketing. In addition, I have been awarded with the honor of presenting the project to the Executive Committee in April. Our long-term goal is to develop an entire adp.com team dedicated to servicing clients and marketing on the Internet. The management skills I have gained from this project have been invaluable to my career growth. I have learned the value of qualitative and quantitative research, experience in fiscal management and project management, and the importance of matching corpora te strategy to Internet strategy. More importantly, the experience has taught me the value of gathering senior management buy in through the progression of a project. I was able to successfully gain the support of senior management by maintaining open communication and making them part of the process. Ultimately, this support was critical to the success of the project, which has brought my department and myself increased visibility within the company—a development that, in turn, has led to more important projects. Through the success of adp.com, I am now regarded as an effective and respected manager who has the ability to analyze and lead complex projects from concept to completion while gaining the support of senior management.
